Final BA Fashion Photography Project
With this project, I look at how the nature elements can inspire my work as a fashion photographer. Growing up in Iceland with stunning landscapes all around me, I wanted to capture the energy I felt and that feeling you get when you are surrounded by nature. That was why I picked up a camera in the first place. I wanted to capture these moments in my surroundings.
Closely researching each element, I got a good idea of how they can be translated into my photography as inspiration. Each element is associated with traits and meanings, which can be interpreted into art. Earth and water are calm and collected elements, whereas wind and fire are energetic and overwhelming.
As a photographer, we get the chance to show people how we see the world and how amazing it can be. With my photography, I want to pay a homage to the force of nature which has always been a great inspiration for me.
Throughout this project I explore what my style is and what my elements are as a photographer by experimenting with different techniques and styles that are inspired by the four natural elements.
